WHO WE ARE

Honest metal, shaped by hand

[NOM] makes bathroom and kitchen fixtures in solid unlacquered brass and copper : faucets, showers, pot fillers and sinks, each one cast, shaped and finished by hand. We don't plate, coat or mass-produce anything. Every piece is solid metal all the way through, made in small batches and left bare on purpose, so it develops a living patina and grows more beautiful with the years instead of wearing out. It's the way fixtures used to be made built to be kept, repaired, and passed on rather than replaced.

Solid, through and through

We only work in solid brass and solid copper. Never plated, never coated. It costs more and it's harder to work, but it's the only honest way to build a fixture that lasts. Because the metal is solid all the way through, every piece can be polished, refinished and repaired for decades, instead of being thrown away when a thin plating wears off. What you touch is what it's made of, right to the core.

Made by hand, in small batches

Every piece is cast, shaped, filed and polished by hand, by people rather than machines. That's why each one carries small, honest variations in its surface and its patina, so no two are ever quite alike. It takes longer to make fixtures this way, and far fewer at a time. We think it's the only way worth doing.

Left unlacquered, made to age

We leave every piece bare, with no lacquer sealing the surface. Brass deepens into warm gold, copper softens to rose and amber, and both take on the marks of everyday life. It isn't a coating that protects the metal from time. It's a finish that records it. If you prefer the bright look, a gentle polish brings it back. Either way, it only gets better with the years.

We don't mass-produce or hold deep stock. Most pieces are cast and finished once you place your order, which is why they take a little longer to reach you than something pulled off a shelf. That wait is the point: your fixtures are made for you, by hand, in small numbers, to a standard that quantity would only compromise. Good things, made properly, are worth the short wait.
